Original description: Just another thing I did for Rayman's 26th anniversary, which happened recently. My sister (well, one of my two sisters) Puff Plum was originally going to have yellow skates, which would have made her look a bit like Rayman. Of course she went for more futuristic blue skates instead, which I think gives her outfit a better colour scheme.
And about my experience with the Rayman series? Glad you asked! Back in the good old mid 2000s (2005-2006 maybe?) I was at my older cousins' house where they had a PS1, there were games like Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, a Donald Duck game and of course, the original Rayman game. Though I got stuck on one of those tutorial bits, I was hooked with the Rayman series immediately. Fast forward to a few months later I bought Rayman 2 alongside some Sonic games and other stuff like Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue. For some reason, I was kinda shy when it came to Globox, Rayman's partner, despite him being a quite wholesome and comedic character.
I never did get far in Rayman 2 even though I got past the scary black shadow guy near the beginning of the game, but I had a much better time with Rayman M. I still remember getting that game from PC World, though I don't remember much of it anymore. I definitely remember being scared by the music of the later stages as well as the weird visuals of Lava Factory and Electric Final.
Then for Christmas of 2007 I got Rayman 3, which took me a few months to figure out the strafing bit at the beginning of the game, then I got scared by the instant death sand in the desert stage.
Unfortunately 2008, despite being a generally good year for me, was also the last time I ever played a Rayman game. At some point I got mad with Rayman M even though I had finished the frustrating 2nd round of Zenith Harbour and just needed to beat the digital looking final stages. A few months afterward I couldn't find any of the three Rayman games I owned, perhaps a victim of my parents throwing it out like they did with that Project64 Disc from so long ago. Needless to say, I suddenly started to fear anything Rayman related after that incident with Rayman M...
It was only in 2020 that I would start to remember Rayman again through speedruns done by Games Done Quick, I also learned of the disgusting downfall of Rayman at the hands of the Rabbids too, which made me lose yet more hope in humanity even after the small-eyed people (You can guess who I'm talking about) had a temper tantrum over our freedoms and made a virus to restrict it. Though I was admittedly surprised about Rayman Origins and Legends, since there's loads of inflation in those games and it's also where I learned the word "bubblize" from. I'm also not scared of the Rayman series anymore, especially after realising Rayman kinda looks like Guilmon, with both of them having headfins and a dragon-like snout. I bet Puff Plum and Rayman would get along well with each other. Hee hee! ^^
I feel like I actually said enough for this image of Puff Plum dressed as our favourite limbless fellow, but I actually have a bit to say even now! First off, I wanna say that the way I made Puff Plum see-through like she's an actual massively inflated balloon is amazing, and I think that it's unique to this image, and two, the way I drew her when she's feeling dizzy is so sweet! It's also worth noting that Rayman's now made a comeback in a Mario And Rabbids: Sparks Of Hope DLC, as well as in some 80s-edgy-teen-Hazbinverse-Shadow-the-edgetard-pandering show called Captain LaserHawk, which is about as 80s pandering and edgetarded as you can get without causing reality to tear open and Khorne's legions to vomit forth. Maybe Rayman's got more plans in store for us, who knows?
