When she entered through the front doors, Connie followed the crowd that was entering into a large Ballroom, which made Connie take in the entire view of how large it really was. Looking at her surroundings, the young woman’s white ponytail swayed left and right as she took in what was around her. She could see that the place she was invited to brought her to a large Mansion, one that had a large Ballroom with two floors. Everywhere she looked, she could see the majority of everyone was on the Main Floor, with a few guests looking down from the Second Floor. Among the crowds of people, numerous green slimes wandered around, carrying trays of refreshments for anyone to take. As for the several individuals that were nearby, the young woman could see them mingling with one another, doing their own thing, and enjoying each other’s company. Even though she was wearing a Pumpkin dress as her costume, and had her Keyblade out in the open, the young woman named Connie felt completely out of place where she was.
Connie: Well, this was not how I expected this to turn out. I thought this was going to be a party with drinking games, candy, and some music.
Connie looked to the stage area, where she saw music being played. However, what she was expecting was a DJ, but instead she saw an Orchestra band, playing orchestral music.
Connie: Well, there is music. But not the kind to hear on Halloween of all times.
Connie was beginning to regret her decision of coming to this party. Everything around her just felt fancy. Too fancy for her liking. She could do nothing but sigh to herself. On top of that, she was cold. She began to immediately regret her decision to not wear her thermal suit this night just so she could show off her costume without the suit interfering.
Connie: I think I better find somewhere that has a heater turned on. That or try and get some hot food to warm up at least.
Carrying her Keyblade, Connie made her way to the food table. To her dismay, she couldn’t find anything hot or being kept at a high temperature by a steam tray. In the end, she got herself a slice of cake.
Connie: I think I’ll just have some cake then get out of here.
????: Awww come on. What’s the rush? The party only just started.
Hearing a voice come from out of nowhere replying to her response, it took Connie by surprise. But she decided to answer, but didn’t make eye contact.
Connie: Maybe because this place makes me feel out of place. This feels like a party only meant for rich people. And it’s just too fancy for my taste given its Halloween. No candy. No booze. No nothing connected with Halloween.
????: And the costumes don’t count?
Connie:…….okay you got me there. But still, I feel out of place here. I only came because I wanted to hang out with my friend Isabel. But after something came up for her last minute, I’m on my own now. I don’t even know anyone here.
????: Well, that doesn’t mean you can’t try to make new friends. Who knows, you may meet someone familiar.
Connie: And what makes you so sure of that?
????: That depends. Where did you get that Keyblade you’re carrying around?
This question caught Connie’s full attention, making her turn to see who was speaking to her, and asking the questions.
Connie: How do you know what this thing-
However, as she was speaking, she immediately stopped when she looked to her right, the direction the voice was coming from. Right in front of her, she saw a familiar anthropomorphic wolf who she had met back when her and thousands of others were brought to a World called Daybreak Town. It was Shred, and he was also out in costume, dressed up as a video game character named Terry Bogard.
Connie:…..is….
Connie was speechless, as Shred could do nothing but smile.
Shred: It’s been quite some time, Connie. I’m really glad you made it out of the Keyblade War.
Seeing someone she had met in Daybreak Town after not encountering anybody she had known there since finding herself in this World, made Connie feel joyful, and ecstatic on seeing her friend and comrade.
Connie: Shred!
Connie immediately dashed towards Shred, not caring who saw her or what was around her. When she got towards him, she gave him a tight hug, just relieved that had found an old teammate.
Connie: Shred! It really is you!
Shred: Yeah. It’s really me. And I’m just glad you’re alive again and well. Wait until Jinx hears that you made it as well.
To hear her half-sister’s name, Connie was taken aback.
Connie: Wait. You saw Jinx?
Shred: I heard of her from Lego, who works at the High School I tend to visit from time to time. She’s been living with him alongside Rich and Jaymee. There are several others who have made it as well.
Connie: Really?! Who else came back?!
Shred looked at the far end of the ballroom, seeing two doors that lead to outside.
Shred: I think it’s best we take this outside. There is a lot to catch up on, and it will give us some alone time with nobody interrupting.
Shred smiled at Connie, as she did the same back, making it settled to make their way out. Taking hold of her Keyblade, Connie dismissed it, making it magically disappear. That was when the two of them began to make their way through the crowd of people, doing their best to squeeze by the crowd, and to not bump into anybody that was holding a drink or a plate of food. When the two of them made it to the doors, they proceeded to make their way out to the Ballroom Balcony outside. As the two friends made their way out, a man with spikey brown hair who was wearing a suit began to make his way out of the party and out of the building towards the front. When the man was almost out of the Ballroom area, he reached into his pocket, where he took out a dozen sheets of paper. However, these sheets were glowing, and they were not any ordinary pieces of paper. These sheets were taken out of the Book of Prophecies, a book that was said to be able to see the Future. With the sheets at hand, before the man made his way out, he swung his arm out upwards, making the sheets of paper shoot up straight into the air. When the sheets of paper were almost up to the ceiling, the sheets scattered, beginning to fall back down like any sheet of paper would. With the man out of the ballroom, he quickly made his way out through the front doors, where he spotted a set of Jack-O-Lanterns decorated to the side.
????: Let’s make this a lot more interesting. And a Halloween nobody here will soon forget.
Reaching into another pocket in his suit, the man took out a glass vial containing a black liquid. He immediately threw the vial at the Jack-O-Lanterns, covering them in the black liquid. With the man taking his leave and getting as far from the premises as possible, the black liquid that was splattered on the Jack-O-Lanterns began to disappear, seeping into them. However, after a few seconds passed, the Jack-O-Lanterns began to emit a dark aura around them, as they soon began grow, and the faces on the lanterns started to move.
The noise of the people around them were now silent, and the lights from the Chandeliers above them were now replaced with the night sky and the Stars above. With nobody around to interrupt them, Connie and Shred were able to reminisce about the times that they had back in Daybreak Town, and help Connie get filled in on what has been going on in her absence.
Shred: How long has it been since you found yourself in this World, Connie?
Connie: I am not too sure on the date exactly. But I think it's been maybe 9 to 10 months now.
Shred: I see. And since then, you haven't encountered anyone from our team?
Hearing this question, Connie shook her head no.
Connie: No. Not one person. To be honest, I thought I was completely alone in this World. I was only able to get by on this planet thanks to a good friend I had made a while back. Helped me get a job and have a steady income.
Shred: Well, it's good to hear you were able to settle in this World. Better than some others at least. But it is making it a lot more suspicious in regards to everybody from our team winding up in my Homeworld.
Connie's attention was then peaked, wondering what Shred had just said.
Connie: Wait......this World is your home, Shred?
Shred: It is. I am the only one who seems to have been able to make it back home to everyone I know. While everyone else has been brought here for some odd reason, trying to settle to life here while finding a way back home.
Connie: Oh. Well at least you made it back. But that makes me want to ask though. What did you mean by strange occurrences? What's been really going on?
Shred knew it would be difficult to explain what has happened since getting back home, but he still took in a deep breath and did his best to explain to Connie.
Shred: Connie. We were all supposed to come back to life in our own respective worlds. But everyone has been coming here at my Homeworld. I thought everything had worked, until Talon and Keeley came out of a portal in front of my home. Not only that, meeting up with Lego and Lauxenio revealed a lot more as to what was going on thanks to Jinx. Someone by the name of Foul Playa is in possession of the Book of prophecies. Not only that, he's the owner of a Bunny Club downtown, which Jinx, AJ, and Woods work at.
With this reveal, Connie could only look at Shred with wide eyes, trying to piece together how this happened, and to know that three of her teammates are working for a boss that has the Book in his possession.
Connie: Wait! Someone has the book and it's not Oliver?!
Shred: That's correct. As to how they got the book, I don't know. But right now, it's all coming to the conclusion that we either have a traitor or traitors who were with us during the Keyboard War. As to who it could be, we don't know yet. But whoever it is, they were able to reach Foul Playa a lot about the book, even use it to control of our own.
Connie: Who was it? Who is being controlled right now?
Shred: When I encountered Envy, she told me that she wound up having to fight against Guinivere. No matter how many times she tried to get through to her, she was under Foul Playa's control. And who knows who else he may have under his thumb.
Connie: I can't believe it. Just when I thought we were free from the Heartless and any danger, we just switched one problem for another.
Shred: That's life, Connie. But that's as much as I was told about everything so far. I am sure something else has happened since I last time talked to Lego but it all depends.
Connie: Regardless about everything you told me, I'm just glad that Kind made it out of the War. I just hope I can see her soon.
Shred: I can give her address. She's currently staying with Lego after finding out about the book.
Connie: I'm just glad I will be able to see her again.
Just as Shred reached into his pocket to get out a piece of paper to write on, the doors behind them suddenly flung open. Connie and Shred were suddenly greeted by the sight of a large crowd of people, panicking and running as fast as they could to get out of the Ballroom.
????: Help! Monsters!
????: Someone save us!
Hearing the screams of the crowd and people yelling for help, Connie and Shred looked at one another, knowing they needed to get in the Ballroom as quick as possible before anyone got hurt. The two of them approached the fleeing crowd, where they began to try and make their way through to get back into the ballroom. Squeezing their way going against the fleeing crowd, Connie and Shred made it to the doorway. This was when they noticed the crowd beginning to diminish, making it easier for them to get back inside the building. However, when they made it back in, they were greeted to a sight of absolute chaos. Tables that were once upright and properly decorated, were now toppled over with the contents on them now scattered all over the floor, with those who were not so lucky to evacuate the ballroom using them as a barrier between them and the monsters that were hovering around the room, or running around aimlessly trying to attack anybody. When Connie and Shred looked at the centre of the Ballroom, they could see several partygoers completely surrounded, with the Monsters circling around them like sharks in water. Two of the individuals that were surrounded took up a fighting stance, ready to fight. With no time to waste, Connie and Shred immediately made a run for the centre, ready to give a lending hand against the creatures. However, as Connie got closer to the Monsters, she could see a very familiar emblem on their chests, one that she had seen back in Daybreak Town when she was out on Missions. These weren't just Monsters, they were Heartless. And there were a lot of them.
Connie: Shred! These aren't just Monsters! They're Heartless!
Shred: Heartless?! Well that's just great!
With frustration heard in his tone, Shred knew there was only one way to deal with Heartless. At the same time, Connie and Shred raised out a hand to their side, as a Keyblade suddenly materialized out of thin air in their hands. Now wielding her Keyblade, Connie reached her right hand to her back, gripping the handle of her machete. Taking it out of its pouch, Connie was now wielding two weapons. As one of the Heartless, that was known as the Ferry Reaper, swung back its scythe, ready to attack the group that was surrounded. When the Ferry Reaper swung its scythe, a female android in the group who was known as Schildra, quickly created an energy barrier around them, blocking the Heartless’ attack. But when the attack was successfully blocked, the barrier broke, giving a man named Johann the chance to cast a spell from his book, making a counterattack against the Heartless. However, this left all of the others defenseless and wide open for the Furious Reaper and the Vile Reaper for an attack. When the two Heartless swung back their scythes and were ready to strike, their attacks were blocked by Connie and Shred. As they blocked the attacks, the two of them pushed the two reapers back, creating some distance.
Shred: Is everyone alright?!
Female Partygoer: We are now that you’re here Shred!
Female Partygoer: The only hunk capable of taking care of us and these monsters!
Hearing these comments, a mouse girl named Squeek became immediately irritated.
Squeek: Back off hussies!
Shred: Squeek! Now is not the time for that!
Connie: Shred is right! You guys have to get out of here and someplace safe!
Shred: Connie! I’ll protect everyone as they get out of the ballroom! Can you stall these freaks at the meantime?
Looking back to Shred, she could only grin in excitement.
Connie: Fine by me! I need to shake off the rust since I came to this World!
Johann: I’ll back you up! Schildra here can help give you an opening for an attack!
Schildra: I’ll do my best to make a shield for you! When I do, that will be your chance!
Connie: Thanks! I can use the help!
Shred: Alright let’s go!
With his Wrench Keyblade, Shred pointed it to the doors that lead to the Ballroom Foyer, which would lead them out of the building. The moment Shred gestured them to make a run for it, the surrounded guests began to make their way to the doors. As they did, A heartless that was known as the Nimble Reaper tried to go after the guests, ready to swing its scythe. But before the attack could land on a few of them, Shred got in front of it, stopping the attack with his Keyblade. This gave them the chance to get out of the room before any other Heartless tried to attack them. When everyone made it out safely, Shred looked towards Connie, Johann, and Schildra, giving them a reassuring nod and a grin.
Shred: Go get ’em!
Connie: Trust us, Shred. We got things covered here!
I know that the pic says it was made in 2020, but this is due to how long this chapter took to finally finish. But as they say, it's better late than never doing it at all :) .

Yeah but it is a first to see a Halloween party being held in a giant ballroom like that. Not to mention feeling pretty high class and stuff ;). But you're right, Connie looks great in that outfit :). Not to mention Squeek and Shred and the others. Yeah it seems that way unfortunately.
