I tend to just use 'fursuit' as a generic term that covers everything from the critters you see at cons to the costumes at Disneyworld, the larger full-bodied Muppets, and team mascots etc...
I do find, quite often in fact, that the fursuits you see at cons are far better made and far cuddlier/cuter than professionally made stuff ( except for the aforementioned large Muppet costumes, which were always brilliant ). I can understand why a distinction might be drawn between fan made suits and advertisement-linked suits such as above, but it just makes it easier in my own head to think of them as the same.
