The Wha'halrin is a species of toothed whale that inhabits coastal waters around the continents of Elysium and Arcadia. This cetacean, while not the largest predator of the seas is still a formidable hunter and a nightmare to all small to medium-sized fish and cephalopods. Their favored habitat is one with numerous underwater mountains, spires, and crags among which they can bob and weave as they chase prey or evade larger marine predators, such as the Grantiberon.

The Wha'halrin is not an easily studied species in no small part due to its rather aggressive and unpredictable disposition. While an attack from one of these creatures isn't always guaranteed it is always a true potential threat. As such, few dare to dive when this toothed whale goes out on the prowl; only the bravest, the most foolish... or the least well-informed dare to do so. Milo (pictured above next to the Wha'halrin) wasn't informed about this until the cetacean got really close to him (Milo had so choice words directed towards the lead scholar after this, thankfully, non-hostile encounter).
