Matt's introduction in my universe happened a few years back in a story where Zander and Matt team up in order to hunt down infiltrators in one of their allied bases. Said base just so happens to also be near an oasis. For awhile Matt wasn't too different to Zander in physical appearance. But I suppose when I learned of femboys and started to explore them some more I thought that I could rework Matt's appearance to stand out further from Zander. Not to mention I believe having wide hips lends itself to the Kangaroo aesthetic.
