I was curious as to whether I could create a gorilla with Hero Forge, and the answer is "yes." The facial adjusters allowed me to enlarge the jaw, muzzle, brow, and the back of the head. I'm not 100% happy with this one--I didn't even save it to my file--it's just done as a test of what can be done. The base face is the Orc, with a canine muzzle, gorilla nose, and ears that stick out. The brows are the new "squared off" brows from the facial menu.
The body bothers me because there isn't a good "sort of furred" body option--if I use the furry body, it comes with huge claws, and gorillas have humanlike hands.

The teeth are there--Like I said, this is a quickie. I used the Canine upper dental plate and the Orc lower dental plate. The teeth can also be made larger in the adjusters, but I haven't messed with that tool yet.
The dome of the head can be adjusted in several different sliders.

HeroForge still needs a lot of improvement. Sometimes I think it’s a pity they spend so much time adding new items instead of revamping old ones. Digitigrade legs for example are terrible, almost straight instead of having a better angle in the joints. Bull legs lack hair and so on. I’d like a body hair pattern that allows groin hair tufts, so I could make savage werewolves (the “naked” version on which genitalia is hidden by the hair). Also there is not enough body customization to make a proper dwarf or ogre (not to mention gorillas) since those races have shorter legs and proportionally bigger torsos. Basically all races are humans with some sort of addon to change them to another species
I agree. They should also have hoof-hands, elephant feet, as you said back hair and groin hair, throat and cheek ruffs for the canine and feline characters so they don't look so creepy "bald," and poses like quadrupedal crouching for werewolves. I'd also like to be able to pose the arms on the prone character so it doesn't just, well, lie there like a knocked-down doll.
Have you ever submitted suggestion tickets? They actually do add stuff. I suggested tongues, and they have one--that can be posed, even! (Not forked, but I think that's coming.) I suggested better lion people and they added such. They have bat, pig, and gorilla noses now. And whoever is doing their new sculpts is really good, so much better than the earlier ones with the bulky-looking clothes. I wish the skirts fit more closely, though. Dancing characters get clipped.
I use HF like a mental game--challenge myself to see what I can make with the parts in the box. :)

I’m tired of submitting suggestions. The lion race was on my table for ages since I’m a Leo and also I loved Thundercats (the original one and the remake up to a point, not Thundercats ho! which is an abomination). You can see I made some panther people before the lion race release.
I ALWAYS suggest they make a fundoshi type lower clothing and they refuse

After dinner, I messed about with the controls (having to start over since I didn't save the first one) and got the cranium to be somewhat more pointy in back. I also used the furry body parts and closed his fists so the claws aren't as noticeable. The neck is still "wrong" because there's no way to make it larger.
I'm thinking the gorilla would work better in a business suit with a stogie than as an animal figure.
