Many believe that the Sega Saturn came in the US it what killed Sega in the console market but for me I truly believe that it really started with the 32X an add on for the Genesis/Mega Drive to expand the life on the console but failed and hurt Sega.

You're right about the 32X being bad.
The 32X was so bad that the Saturn actually HELPED Sega.
The 32X was so bad that not even the failure(?) of the Virtual Boy could get Sega back into the race (actually, Sega would've been able to rebound in the late 90s, if not for the PlayStation)
The PlayStation is what truly killed Sega, though. The Saturn was actually turning their fortunes around, especially when coupled with the release issues of the Nintendo64. Sega was on it's way back to at least relevance when the PlayStation dropped.

What killed Sega was the president of Sega of Japan only caring about being big in Japan. The Genesis was a huge failure in Japan but did great in America and Europe. Instead of capitalizing on that,he ignored it. The 32X was the baby of Sega of America and was done to build on the success of the Genesis. It's not a bad idea but not when the SoJ president, knowing full well what SoA was doing, demanded the Saturn be released in America too.
He either should've said no to the 32X project at the start or not released the Saturn in America. Putting out 2 competing products in the same market was a stupid plan. You pick one and stick with it. The 32X itself was fine and could've taken on the N64 and Playstation. The Saturn could've done the same. But he burned a lot of bridges, the president of SoA left over this debacle.
Release one and then cancel it and put out another system? You're wasting resources. Chief of which was good will. Pick an option and stick to it.
