A wyvern from The Black Cauldron
I watched the movie again after some time and I really like the wyverns in it.
I am not extremely happy how it turned out but it was fun to draw and felt like in elementary school when I drew lots of dragons in a similar style.
If you like a bit darker and spookier cartoon movies, I recommend this one. One wouldn't guess it's a Disney movie.

Easily my 2nd favorite Disney move. 1st is Cinderella for 2 reasons, my childhood, and the 3rd movie is like the best direct to video sequel.
But the Black Cauldron is so unique and dark. I can't help but love it! Its darkness made it so after it left theaters, Disney wanted nothing to do with it till 1999 and it finally put it out in the classics clamshell vhs set! <3
Sorry I'm a bit of a disney nut.

No it's alright, I like most Disney movies too, especially most of the 90's/2000's movies and it's interesting to me to know a little bit more about the movies I know since I was a child.
Yeah The Black Cauldron is indeed unique with its dark atmosphere and creepy antagonist. It's not one of my fave movies but I definetly adore the spookyness, especially for a Disney movie.

Here is another little fact. Now I'm not sure the validity of the why but here goes:
Gwythaints are depicted in the book as vulture like creatures, they were put in the disney movie as dragons because of ease of animation. Honestly. Why they did it doesn't matter, I think it was a great design choice over all! =3
