"And all at once, summer collapsed into fall..." -Oscar Wilde
"Ooh, how pretty! Look at all the koi!" Wagging her tail, Whisper leaned towards the shallow pond trying to touch one of the curious fish-
"Whisper! Be careful before you fall in!" You reached over and grabbed her by the waist as she leaned towards the koi pond- it did not stop her from looking as she curiously watched the koi. Though if one didn't know any better, one would assume the fish were mocking her, as a few of them occasionally jumped out of the water, splashing water in her direction.
What is it with felines and fish...oh, right. With a exasperated sigh, you took her hand and guided her along the weathered, stone trail-
She had agreed to [finally] let you take her on a normal, safe date. You mentioned the local park would be a perfect date for a nice stroll to watch the leaves change colors for the season- maybe even have a nice picnic by the lake! You doubted she would agree to such a "boring" date considering her previous dates usually led to you being chased, attacked, or doing some dangerous stunt that jeopardized your health and well being.
Oh the gods must have taken pity on you for once as she eagerly said yes to a date at the park. The Kurama Fire Festival was also taking place, so it was a good opportunity to wander around town and enjoy the festivities. You figured no harm would come from a walk through the park and going to a festival...right?
Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted as you realized she was no longer walking alongside you- HOW?! She was just there. In your defense, you knew better than to leave her unsupervised, much less not pay attention to her for too long; it leads to trouble...for you. You knew it was a moot point to try and look for her; she would reappear eventually- probably when she got hungry or bored of whatever she was up to- you sat on a nearby bench and patiently waited-
Sure enough, about ten minutes later, she came running towards you with a small satchel in her hands, "Whisper, where have you been? And what is that?!" You pointed at the satchel; she just proudly beamed at you and opened it, revealing a small koi, "I caught one!"
...
Speechless, you shook your head and grabbed her hand once more, guiding her back on the path, "Let's go get some food, hmm? My treat..."
Nothing like a nice, relaxing walk through the park on a crisp, autumn day. Kyoto is gorgeous this time of year; and what better way to spend the weekend than going out on a date-
And stressing said date out, LOL. Bless him. Whisper cannot help she's part feline.
A gorgeous piece by the lovely thyq. She spent SO much time working on this piece, especially the background, and it really shows. Thank you so much again :)
On a sidenote, I think this is one of the last summer pieces of Whisper! Her fur will slowly be integrating to its winter, white coat soon...stay tuned~
