This book completes the trilogy about Chakona, its inhabitants, the interaction of the chakats with some humans, skunktaurs and other races, such as the renzar and the rakshanis. All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 48

At the Amistad airport, Rogar Skunktaur was preparing to fly back to the Skunktaur Archipelago with his colleague Ben Zider. The dean had traveled to support and comfort Esteban's family and friends after the tragedy. Above all, to his parents Renzar, who were still recovering from the loss of him.
“Thank you so much Ben for waiting for me at Amistad. I really feel sorry for your family. They must be anxious waiting for you at home. I am not so young anymore and it is not wise to travel alone”
“You have nothing to be thankful for, Rogar. Mary and the children agreed. Esteban's death was an exceptional situation. I had to stay. Also, my friend Bram was very shocked. Just a couple of days before, Bram and I talked to that guy… How sad”
"I still can't believe it. Esteban was very special to all of us. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand the designs of fate... Tell me Ben, how is old Bram?
“Hys health is fine. But hy is saddened by the loss of the boy. You know, Rogar, I've discussed it with Mary these days. I think it would be good for Bram to get out of that nursing home. We would like to give hym a family”
"Are you serious Ben?"
"Yes... I would like to take Bram home and have hym live with us"
“Oh, my dear colleague. That would be wonderful!"
"But I don't know if Bram wants to"
"But you haven't proposed to hym yet?"
"I wanted to consult with you before making a decision, Rogar"
“Well, you already have my opinion. There is no institution that can replace the love and affection of a true family. Bram can be very well cared for at the nursing home. But you don't just have to take care of the body. Also the heart. If you and Mary want to adopt Bram, I'm sure would be very good for hym ”
"Thank you, Rogar!" Said the teacher taking hys hands. At that instant, the human's PADD began to ring.
"Ben speaking"
"Mr Zider. I'm Chakat Darguso, caretaker at Amistad Nursing Home. Bram is with you? I ask because you were the last person to visit hym yesterday."
"Hey? No… Bram is not with me. I am at the airport, about to embark for New Bletchely… Wait a minute Shir Darguso. Don't tell me Bram ran away again?"
"I'm afraid so. The tracking device is not working this time and I don't know why. We haven't been able to locate hym."
Damn! I'll go there. Thanks Shir” Ben said before hanging up.
"What's going on?" inquired Beg.
"As usual. Bram again ran away from the caretakers of hym. And there is no way to locate hym. I will return to the city. Maybe I can help in the search. I'm sorry Rogar. You will have to return to the Archipelago alone”
"Wait Ben. Do not stress. I will go with you. Maybe I can track hym down with my talent.”
"Are you serious, Rogar?"
"Yeah! I don't mind delaying my arrival one more day! I will be happy to help a friend like you”
"Thank you, Rogar!" Said the professor, and then they both went to the exit of the building in search of a transport to the city.

Meanwhile, in a private office inside the Chakona Gateway, a group of people gathered behind closed doors. Among them, several high-ranking Federation officers, as well as federal intelligence agents. Most of them chakats, some skunktaurs, Rakshanis and Voxxan. Among the skunktaurs present, there was one who wore a powerful blocking headband. The local director of intelligence, a Chakat named Brey, started the meeting.
“Everyone knows the background. We have only met to coordinate the final details of the capture operation. We have Second Lieutenant Ugkar Skunktaur with us. Hy came from the Vika system to help us locate the subject with hys extraordinary psionic abilities. It is necessary to remind all you that this operation will be monitored by the Government of Chakona. It is of the utmost importance that everything is kept under strict secrecy. It is not prudent to alarm the citizens of the planet. We don't want skunktaurs to fall prey to the anger and prejudice of others. Faise is a hybrid generated by genetic engineering outside of the Federation. As the reports that each of you will have read indicate, hy have extraordinary powers. Hys most effective weapon is mind control. We believe that in this way, Faise managed to manipulate the system and passed all the barriers to enter Chakona. Surely the name Faise is false. We do not know hys real intentions, but the police are already accusing hym of being responsible for the death of at least two people so far. And one of them was a skunktaur police officer."
"Director, is the use of more hybrid skunktaurs reliable in this operation?" one of the Voxxan officers asked, glancing sideways at Ugkar.
“Lieutenant Ugkar is part of the Federation. And hy volunteered to collaborate ”Replied Brey seriously. Ugkar, through gritted teeth, suddenly intervened.
"Permission to speak Shir Brey!"
Those present were surprised to hear the hard voice of the skunktaur.
"Permission granted, lieutenant" The chakat replied. Ugkar looked up and noted the diversity of species found in that place.
“The Chakona Government, and also the Federation, knew of our existence many years ago. A litter of hybrid skunktaurs bred from skunktaurs captured in deep space fifty years ago. Intelligence knew of my abilities and kept an eye on me since I was a pup. It amazes me now that a skunktaur similar to me could have passed under their noses and entered Chakona so easily without being detected. As a result of this negligence, a very dear friend died horribly.” Ugkar said with tears in hys eyes.
"He was a wonderful boy," hy added with a broken voice.
“We are sorry for your loss, Lieutenant Ugkar…” Brey declared.
“Yoy ask if I am trustworthy?... I am! And I will put everything in me to capture that bastard! It's all Shir Brey,” Ugkar finally declared with emotion. The skunktaur officers present spontaneously left their places and approached hym, surrounding hym and hugging hym affectionately. The oldest among them nodded proudly. Brey and the rest of the Chakats also approved of Ugkar's intervention. The director then declared.
“In the next few hours, we will receive the latest reports from the capital's police. Be ready. That's all!"
Ugkar felt a special emotion watching Chakona through the station's monitors. After a long time with Aldorah in Vika, hy was returning to hys old home, even if it was for a short time. After the meeting ended, hy approached Chakat Brey to speak candidly.
“Director, I need to see Esteban's family. His parents, his friends. I need to see Lilethe"
“I understand your feelings and I share them, Lieutenant. But it's risky to send you to the surface now. That Faise guy could sense your presence and…” Brey was about to say, when Ugkar interrupted hir.
"Director. This headband is state of the art. With it on, I'm undetectable to any red paw. Even I haven't been able to catch anyone's thoughts since I put it on. I'm sure no skunktaur will be able to locate me."
“Hmm… Okay. But make it a short visit”
"Yes Shir!" Ugkar replied standing at attention.

Fifteen days had passed since Esteban was declared dead by the authorities. In building 115, Gerak-Nee was ready to start a new day of work.
Although both he and Lorna were allowed to take a couple of weeks off to recuperate from the death of their co-worker, the Rakshani preferred to return sooner. His experience as a soldier gave him the strength to withstand the shock of the loss of Esteban. But his main concern was Lorna. Shi has not appeared in the facilities for days.
Gerak-Nee sat down in front of his screen. It was not easy to concentrate. The Rakshani had grown fond of Esteban and Lorna more than he had imagined. At times, he had to get up and take a walk. His wet eyes did not allow him to see clearly. In one of the corridors, he bumped into Chakat Serenity, who greeted him with a smile.
"Any news from Lorna?" Gerak-nee asked.
“Shi is still at home, with hir parents. We will probably have to find a temporary replacement for the team."
“Not Serenity. I don't want anyone else... I had already gotten used to it with Lorna and Esteban... I hope shi returns"
"It's okay Gerak. I understand and will respect that. But if the job gets too heavy, I'll have to bring someone else.”
“Lorna is a strong chakat. She will recover from this hard blow… I know, Serenity. Please let us be patient with shi”
"Well... We are all sad, but life goes on, Gerak" Serenity said.
"I know. It's just that I'm worried about shi,” the rakshani replied. Saying goodbye to hir, Gerak continued through the interior corridors of the facility to take his mind off him. Looking out the window, he saw in one of the hangars, the Stariionae had returned to the airport. He thought they would order him to try to communicate with that creature again. It seemed like a good idea to do it to take his mind off him. The proud Rakshani didn't want to admit it, but he had realized that Lorna and Esteban had become his closest friends, the only ones capable of putting up with his bad temper. And Natany, who was also devastated by Esteban's departure.

On the road north of Amistad, a light-furred skunktaur trotted gracefully along the side of the road. The day was sunny and the wind ruffled hys fluffy tail and short hair. Sometimes hy stopped to take a breath and admire the landscape. Then, hy continued hys trot without paying attention to the PTVs that rushed past hym. One of those vehicles slowed down and kept moving slowly alongside hym. As the side door opened, the skunktaur could hear a familiar voice calling out to hym.
“Bram! Where are you going?"
“Ah… It's you Ben Zider! I thought you were going back to the Archipelago!”
“Yes, but again you ran away. I worried about you and I came to look for you, so that you return to your caregivers ”
"Nah...I don't want to go back now...Tell them I'm not here!"
"Bram, your caregivers are here with me in the Nursing Home vehicle."
“Oops! Bye bye!"
“Bram, stop it. Trotting like that you won't get very far!"
"I just want to get to that curve in the road, I don't want to go any further"
“Okay, okay… Stop… At least let me escort you to that place!” Ben asked, as he got out of the vehicle. Bram stopped, breathing heavily from hys trot.
“Okay, human. Accompany me. But don't let them come near!" Bram indicated, pointing to the Chakat caretakers in the vehicle, who looked at each other, frowning.
"Okay Bram, they'll stay behind, but you'll have to go back to the nursing home later," Ben assured. The two walked together arm in arm. The sea breeze felt refreshing on their face. Rogar also got out of the vehicle to stretch hys legs a bit. Hy walked some distance from Ben and Bram so as not to be in the way. The human, thinking of the proposal he had for the old skunktaur, declared.
“Bram, I was talking to my family, and…
“I have seen that person die twice. You can believe it? But both deaths were totally different,” Bram said matter-of-factly. The teacher did not know what to answer. However, upon observing the place more carefully, he realized that it was the same curve where the accident had occurred the other day. Ben looked at Rogar, asking hym to come closer to them. Bram for hys part kept walking towards a bend in the road. The human took Rogar's hands and said.
“This is the scene of that boy's accident. I don't understand why Bram came here. I'm sorry, Rogar"
"Okay, Ben. Don't worry. It is overwhelming for me to be here” replied the dean, observing the landscape from the cliff. Bram, stopped a little further away and called out to them.
“Come! Looks like the family is reunited again!" Said the old skunktaur pointing forward. Then, Ben and Rogar saw another skunktaur in the distance, with curly hair and a fluffy tail, watching the ocean from the edge of the cliff. Rogar tried to grasp hys identity with hys talent, but observed that hy had a blocking headband on hys head.
The stranger, who was wearing the impeccable Federation uniform, turned to see them and slowly approached them. Rogar was moved to tears upon recognizing hys nephew Ugkar.
"Oh it can not be! It's you!"
“Aunt Rogar? What are you doing here?" Said the lieutenant, surprised to see them.
"You see? Hy is the son of Vroeg, heh heh” Bram said wagging hys tail.
"What? Ugkar? The puzzled professor asked.
“Oh my son. What a joy to see you again!"
"I say the same, Aunt Rogar!" Ugkar replied with a smile. They both hugged each other affectionately.
"Tell me, son, when did you arrive?"
"A few hours ago. When they found out about Esteban, they let me come…” Ugkar mentioned, hiding the other reason for hys coming to Chakona.
"Ougkar. It has been very painful for everyone to lose Esteban. Above all, for his family ”
"I know. Soon I will visit them and also Lilethe. I'm worried about hym"
"We all are, son." But rest assured, we won't leave Lilethe alone. When hy recovers, we will all support hym, just as we support the Renzar.”
“Tha…thank you auntie”
"Oh... I suppose you remember my colleague and friend, Professor Ben Zider" Rogar said pointing to the human.
"Yes I remember him"
"Hello again, Ugkar" Ben said, shaking his hand.
Hi, I'm Bram. I met your father Vroeg, heh heh” Bram said suddenly approaching Ugkar. In an instant the old skunk was face to face with Ugkar, looking into hys eyes.
"Hmmm... Why do you hide your talents behind that headband?" Inquired the doubtful old man.
"Uh? These are orders from the Federation.” Ugkar hastened to answer, a little uncomfortable with Bram's proximity.
“Bram, don't bother Ugkar. Hy came from far away. Ugkar, my condolences on the loss of Esteban. I know very well that you loved him very much,” Ben said politely.
“Thanks you”
"Uh? Why do you give your condolences to the son of Vroeg?… Do you lament over the seed that dies when it only becomes a tree?” Bram said with a frown. Ben just shrugged, not knowing what to say.
"Ugkar, how long will you stay?" Suddenly inquired Rogar.
“Uh…I don't know yet, Aunt Rogar. Until the Federation says, I guess."
"Are you happy in Vika, son?" Ugkar immediately thought of Aldorah and responded with a smile.
“Very happy, aunt. But now, I can't say the same… I have… a lot of anger for the death of that boy… I… Excuse me everyone. I must teleport back to the Chakona Gateway” The lieutenant said suddenly.
"Ugkar, I look forward to chatting with you more before you return to Vika."
“I'll do what I can, Aunt Rogar. Take care of everyone. Goodbye” Ugkar said before disappearing completely from the place. When they were alone again, the teacher asked.
“Bram, is that why you came here? Did you know that Ugkar would come here too?”
"Bah! That doesn't matter… Ben… I'll be very happy to go live with you and your family.” Said the old skunk surprising everyone. Ben and Rogar looked at each other.
"What's going on? Wasn't that what you wanted to hear?" hy added.
"Bram... Only if you want it!" Ben said.
"Come here boy" Bram said suddenly opening hys arms to Ben. "I wish it with all my heart" They both gave each other a warm hug. The professor ruffled Bram's hair lovingly.
"Me and my family will take good care of you, Bram," the human said with emotion.
“Meh… Hopefully better than those brutes from the nursing home… heh heh heh. And I'll take care of you" The skunk replied telepathically, licking Ben's face sweetly.
The nursing home vehicle approached them again, taking them back to the city. Ben and Rogar decided to stay a couple more days in Amistad, to work out the details of Bram's "adoption" by Ben and his family.
