This is one of those pieces that started off simply enough, but ended up spiralling out of control as more ideas came to me. And I'm sure we've all had this happen to us at the beach, or a convention, or a fancy dress party - either way, you're in an outfit that doesn't have many storage options, so you've got to hand everything over to the one friend who's actually got pockets. And isn't it annoying when you're the friend in question, getting lumbered with everyone else's crap while they go off and have fun?
Such is the case on this occasion - and obviously not for the first time - for Patricia Allen, engine technician (Grade 2) onboard the Stellar Typhoon. While trying to buy drinks for herself and crewmate Benny Cooper, she's demonstrating another problem with being the token pack-mule - ending up with so much stuff that you can't find any of yours, least of all that tenner which you know has only been in there since this morning. The fact that Patricia's carrying out this search in her pouch makes it a disturbing spectacle for both Benny and the bar waitress.
