I just love this cold, snowy and bizar place I came up with some time ago, and so does my OC. At least he visits this place often, who knows what really drives him there again and again.... (I know).
In the past I drew this place from my story as pixelart, even animated. The snow flakes took the most time because I drew every single one separately in every frame. This has a great effect but is quite exhausting and of course time consuming.

You're asking the right questions. The calm atmosphere and beauty isn't the only reason why he tends to go to this place often, but I'm afraid you must wait for the answers for quite a long time, considering I didn't even finish the whole plot, characters ans story yet, so starting to draw the comic has to wait and the answers to this in particular wouldn't be revealed until late in the story, so I'm kinda painfully teasing with all this, I'm sorry 😅
Anyway, he does live on/in an active volcano most of the time, but temperature and climate doesn't really have an impact on him, he can't freeze nor get a heat stroke nor does he get his powers from the environment.

Yes, exactly! I love snow and snowy landscapes and the surreal pillars of this dark fantasy world give it such an otherworldly feel I really adore. I'd draw this place more often but I always struggle to draw the pillars right and don't get it to work so often, also the place ist quite empty, not much variety to draw there yet.
Btw I like how you phrase it, are you a native speaker?
Because I always have struggle wording things as good as I do in my native language. And I want to make the comic completely in english, oof. I think I can make it work but I will need to google a lot of vocabulary and synonyms. 😂
Just wanted to mention that 'cause you are really describing it almost poetically, wich I like.

I never suspected you weren't a native english speaker, honestly! I wouldn't say my grammar is perfect but I try to spice it up to keep it interesting. After spending the last 8 years talking to people so often (and lots of roleplay/story writing) I find it difficult to think of new compelling ways to phrase myself. The secret is to always have a thesaurus open in a tab for when you need a little help coming up with a good synonym uvu
Thank you very much for the compliments >//v//<

Ah thanks for telling your secrets to writing so well 😁
And good to know it's not that obvious I am no native english speaker.
I must say, watching tons of different YT videos, chatting with many people online in english and such stuff really improved my crappy school english.
At least reading and listening got so comfortable to me as if it was my native tongue, but I still have to practice writing and especially talking a lot.
