The land that would become the nation of Aldenea was settled mostly travelers entering from the west from Quentallin. A few thousand years after its initial discovery Aldenea moved to become independent from Quentallin driving their military back though a relatively narrow pass through the mountains on the west side of the crater that forms the barrier between Aldenea and the rest of the world.

The red is meant to represent the blood of the soldiers that secured Aldenea's independence from Quentallin. The blue is for the Aldenian sea which takes up a good portion of the area of Aldenea's heartland. And the gold ring is for the walls of the crater in which the people of Aldenea live.
