In the context of no survival skills, means failing to survive. In the manatear, in the case of death, spellfluxed do respawn in the wilds elsewhere after their soulcore has been floating around and it gets caught up in something. Takes a long while when it happens though, in that measured in months way.
So there are natural animal-spawning something-or-others in the Manatear, and deceased spellfluxed eventually get pulled into those and resurrected. Makes sense, I suppose.

certainly a thing that also happens outside the feral lands. Generally it is considered a bad taste thing to knowingly do as a part of society so a lot of them get purposefully pursued and disrupted. It's just a more elaborate being detained against your will, you might just ALSO be a farm animal.
