Well, here's the background I made for my last ych!
I think even without the animation, there is a good ghostly vibe.. it was not originally my intent, but when I felt I had that with the colors, I went for it.
Well, first I drew the pines below, it's less thinking to draw tree tops so it's good as a "warm up" before I get into the details for serious.. those being of the cliff.
I drew some plants I know. There is the woodland stonecrop, and something like a stringy stonecrop but with 2 leaves together instead of 3.. there is also the sensitive fern, and the striped wintergreen. I drew the greenbrier on the tree, but I forgot to add the spikes, so now I don't know what it is. Furthermore, I invented the most terrible thing. Its leaves have big teeth, like the dandelion, and it has a stalk with deflexed flowers, like the jumpseed, though unlike the jumpseed, they are opposite. I think this fantasy plant looks unsettling, in a casual way.
There's also a whole lot of others that aren't, anything in particular. But hey, if you can find the mentioned ones I'll give you a prize or something.
Also, while I was at it, I sent my friend
a wip. But the details were rough and so they thought there were some bones on the cliff, which there weren't meant to be any at the time. But I thought it would be fitting to include them, so I did draw some on on purpose.
Lastly I drew the moon. It's lovely to have some illuminated clouds overlap it, but I also wanted stars, so I drew the stars on the right. In the actual animation the camera turns around and if you look for it they kinda get "revealed" from behind the tree, which I think worked out neatly.
.. And I think that concludes my tour through this painting..
