During the black plague, according to norwegian folklore, Pesta was an anthropomorphized version of the black plague depicting an old woman dressed in black, carrying a rake and a broom.
She would wander from farm to farm, if she used the rake, the families at the farm would be spared. If she used the broom however, they would all be infected.

I decided to make a rat version or skaven version, Pæsta, the bringer of the black plague. This piece i made is based on a very famous norwegian art made by artist Theodor Kittelsens.
