But it's not your fault cartoon animals unless they are drawn in a way that makes it clear that they are masculine or feminine have absolutely no way of showing what sex they are. They do not have visible genitalia and their appearance does not demonstrate what sex they belong to unless they are clearly drawn for the viewer to understand that "this is a man" and "this is a woman". So drawing Simba with a masculine and virile muscular body and a loincloth is a nice way to define that he is indeed the "Lion King".
