xD I did both. I was doing commissions to slap peoples' characters onto backgrounds I'd already drawn a while back, and this was one of them =D

Ohhh right xD I remember seeing you doing background commissions but I thought they were literally just that, doing a background. Didn't realise you'd be doing both. That's awesome ^^ Backgrounds are underloved but contribute so much to a piece of art.

Thanks very much. Didn't really have backstory, beyond wanting to draw this kind of scene for a while. I keep meaning to draw more background designs.

The nice bright blue light emanating from behind the spire combined with the ruins give the background a familiar yet alien feel to this piece while the expression of Murashu gives it a nice peaceful quality. I'm not sure saying "it is nice" would quite grasp how I feel about this one lol.

You know what struck me first, apart from the gorgeous anatomy and alien edifice in the edifice in the background (things you've always been good at anyway)? A single plant, seven blades of grass, and vines scrabbling the walls. You paint a wonderful story with so few details.
