This one was a quick commission I got from
SonicSweeti; I'd originally proposed a picture of Irish farmgirl unicorn Aonbheannach a few months ago as an alternate in case she had issues with my first request, but decided to go for it this month, just as a quick pin-up idea.
And yes, I do need to get back to that story and post more chapters...

Which, given the unicorn's traditional connection to forests and groves, is a shame. I suspect it's part of this disconnect many people have between purity and earthly, where anything touched by the world is automatically 'unclean', and since unicorns are pure they then have to be ethereal and can't be too connected to this imperfect world.
To which Aonbheannach, who's been involved in wetlands conservation efforts for nearly a century (partly to find ways to legally protect her grove) would complain about folks being too focused on the world they haven't seen yet to pay attention to the one asking for help in front of their eyes.

Aonbheannach probably would get along really well with my little forest youkai Kiliki Bright, half-lynx, half-magpie, and as forest guardian, is as connected to the Earth as it gets.
She'd happily provide some encouragement for Aonbheannach - indeed, she'd probably be quite honored to have a unicorn connected to the Earth visiting her forest!
Even if she is named Unicorn.

Well, that isn't her real name. She shapeshifts into human form and wanders around furry conventions looking for others like her or with magical potential, and Aonbheannach is what she uses as her badge name at conventions. That's how she met up with Alicia in the Sketch Upgrade story (though I haven't posted that part yet).
Because, really, Alicia is an college student artist in a modern animation program, of course she knows about the furry fandom.
