Now, dogs don't actually understand the meaning of punishment because they don't actually think like that. But it's still cute XD

that sir, is a completely foolish statement. She hates being in the crate because it means she will be alone, and dogs REALLY hate being alone. So if she associates a certain action or behavior with being put in the crate, then she won't do those actions or behaviors anymore.

Heh, I can see how the intent is logical but unfortunately I've seen way to many bad cases of separation anxiety arise from treatment like that. =/ A dog being a pack animal will always want to be with you but you have to be the Alpha and protect your pack, an Alpha would NEVER send a member into solitary ever unless the intent was to drive that member out pertinently (which is rare.) If she's doing something you feel is wrong, a firm, but not reckless, shake of the scruff of her neck and a low growl will show her you're her alpha and you mean no (only works within 3 seconds of the bad behavior, any longer and they've won.

I'm not trying to sound like an asshole though. ^_^ If I can help build a better relationship and understanding between owner and 'pet' than I'm happy :p
