So! This was my first real attempt at full-blown sculpture, I learned a TON, and one of the main things was to START SIMPLY. Definitely shouldn't have started out so ambitiously with the posing...the end product would have looked a lot nicer with a simpler concept and more planning, specifically with the sparrow/springhare's posture; he's looking far too static for my liking. BUT, all in all, I'm satisfied and looking forward to sculpting again someday.
Totally ran out of time while finishing this up for class, so the ground, moss, and sparrow could use a lot more work...but I'll have to consider it finished. :I
This was made with super sculpey on a wire and foil base, painted with gesso, acrylic paint, and some pastel, and I added final touches with nail polish, moss, and a few pebbles. The base is a piece of plywood I snatched from the scrap-bin in my school's wood shop. ~fancy~

I'm so envious that you're able to do this. Whenever I sculpt with sculpey it melts in my hands or when I touch it because my palms and fingers are always really warm. :<

That vulture guy is fantastic! What an ambitious first sculpture indeed...
