Roxy walked down the streets, her hair glistening in the neon haze, the gentle rain reminding her of her ever gloomy mood. The performance wasn't anything special, just another moment of her favourite band's members getting swarmed and taking hours to be rained out of signing something for her. At least Void got something out of it, 'damned fool...' she thought smiling slightly to herself, '...only spent half an hour in a store to get it too.' She shook off her thoughts and felt her hair was pretty damp at this point, she found a rain covered patio and stood for a moment, whipping out her phone and checking the response of the fan-base for the concert. 'No signal...' she groans as she looks at the clouds and noticing that darker clouds are on the horizon. 'Fuck, need to get home'
"Rox!" She heard the oh so familiar voice state.
"Void, what are you doing?"
"I'm making sure that a certain wolf doesn't get a cold!" Void laughs to himself emphasizing the umbrella in his hand.
"Goofball!"
They walk their way home and along the way Roxanne notices Void is holding the umbrella more observably over her than himself.
"You know you can cover yourself more right?" She asks him.
"Hmm, nah, much funnier watching your snout twitch every time the umbrella jolts..." He grins.
"y'know you could've actually gotten something signed by them if you'd tried, you're way faster than me."
"Yeah maybe, but then we'd have no umbrella to walk under." The realization hit her rather quickly that Void missed the last song and what few signatures were given just to get something so mundane.
"Half an hour in a store to get an umbrella?" She questioned somewhat sternly. "You missed a song and signings for an umbrella? Really?"
"Ahem... Yes" he said almost not seeming to mind it too much.
A moment of silence grew between them as Roxanne seemed a little annoyed that she had to navigate out of the signing hall and halfway home on her own for a stupid umbrella. Void tried nudging her with a smile, no dice, she seemed to be less amused all of the sudden.
"Can you sing in the rain Rox?" Void asked.
"What?"
"Would you mind singing in the rain? Please?"he asked somewhat teasingly. "It's just your voice sounds really nice and..." Roxanne cut him off,
"Void, I'm not in the mood,"
"Not even for your new umbrella?"
"Giving me some random umbrella from a fan store is not gonna..."
"Roxy?" Void interrupted her sincerely. She looked at him as he showed her a symbol engraved in the hilt of the umbrella, it was signed by... "I wanted to save until we got home but you just seem so bummed and I couldn't, uhhh..." he lost train of his sentence as she took hold of the hilt and his hand.
"How'd you get this?"
"Well most of that half an hour wasn't spent browsing"
"And you're just gonna give this to me?"
"Why not? You wanted a signature and I couldn't really think of what to do and we didn't have a..." He paused as she hugged him gently, the umbrella dropping, exposing them both to the falling water, like tears of joy pelting them gingerly...
