Nobody can recall a time when the world was alive and serene. In the far north, a group of religious fanatics discovered ancient sarcophagi, buried beneath thousands of years of ice. These naive fools shattered the ice, summoning the North Winds to plague the world.
Since then, Egophyranx has remained vigil over the sarcophagi. If only one adventurer could slip past the warden of the ice crypts, the Winds may be quieted then.
But no one has ever solved the Egophyranx's riddles. And no one has ever returned to tell about the creature's rites.
