Marvin could jog for hours before getting even slightly winded, but he decided to take a rest anyway to enjoy the rest of the pristine summer day. He had to peel a bit of trash off of his sandal from earlier though, but like any good samaritan he make sure to leave the place cleaner than he found it and tossed it into the garbage where it belonged.
Flattening a character in Unreal is actually more work than you'd think. Normally you could just scale down the root joint of a character on one axis to do it, but due to the way Unreal handles the math for skeleton animation, doing that would cause his body to contort in weird and nasty ways instead of just flattening regularly. The only ways to get the effect are to either scale the character's actor or set up a material to do it on the shader level. The second option would be more flexible and easier to integrate into existing animations, but the setup for it proved to be too convoluted and specialized for my needs, so ultimately I ended up just exporting out a single pose of Thermite being smooshed and then I manually scaled and placed it in the scene under Marvin's sandals in each frame. Definitely not feasible for an animation, but for a comic it gets the job done without too much extra work.
