I'm mostly popping in here to follow a few buddies, also I've been shopping around for new less-predatory socials and people have always spoken so highly of FA as a community and as a website. You been a here a good long time, what you think of it? I'm kinda digging the more retro design.

the trends in social media have certainly scattered a lot of us to the wind... it makes me very sad, and sad to see old stomping grounds like deviantart fall apart

furaffinity despite all its faults has been pretty consistent in sticking to its guns (no ai, allowing nsfw art with filters, fairly strong community sense, etc) and tbh its layout doesnt change Much. it feels like a hold out from the older ages

theres been a lot of startup art sites here and there, but too often they dont ever really get off the ground. ive been giving https://sheezy.art/ a chance, but only time will tell how much we can keep these things running

Yeah, it's weird times but I'm getting pretty fierce about us all needing to abandon the big bad socials and flock to the decent spaces. Especially if everything we say and share is training data... don't give that to assholes. I'll check out sheezy next! Have you tried Cara? Couldn't recommend it enough! But same deal, time will tell which sites can stand both the rush of new users and the temptation to sell out.

i havent tried cara yet! it looked a little too sparse/professional for my vibes as a more casual hobby artist, but that could always change. i do know they also have a rule against the use of ai which is good

MAN.. i mean weve been all over the place. disability makes life rough and then the pandemic happened. i actually managed to avoid catching covid these whole years until just earlier this month. most of the symptoms have cleared up and werent as bad as ive seen others get, but im still dealing with fatigue issues and my sense of smell isnt 100% again. i hope youve been surviving tho, everyone really seems to be getting thrown the tough cards lately
