The qikaxi call it Great Xel'kithix, the Cosmic Serpent; a colossal creature spanning whole lightyears fuelled by a sole desire to consume. Once in a dozen millennia it awakens to feed on the galaxy's stars, leaving entire systems as cold, dead husks. Xel'kithix then bellowed a terrible roar before returning to dormancy; this galaxy-spanning scream shaking the Federation to its core. It is believed that this moment is what led to the awakening of psionic humans, an event dubbed the Psionic Emergence.
