Fumiganei used to be a human. A mere mortal with a limited lifespan. A clergyman and an alchemist of the Church of the Savior. Silent and frightened man. But his most horrible fear was the fact of his own mortality. Fumiganei feared death the most. He didn't believe a word the pastor of the church he worked in preached. And in time, Fumiganei turned to the dark arts to find the solace from his worries.

Until he discovered, among the dusty tomes of forbidden knowledge, a ritual. A possibilty. A chance. A way to link his very own soul to the World Mycelium, Mycoteria.
And Mycoteria brought him peace of mind. It was eternal, blooming throughout the cosmos. Soon, Fumiganei abandoned the church, diving headfirst into the study of The Pit's malicious arts. He got closer and closer to Mikoteria with each step. Getting closer to perfection. Getting closer to this wicked form of immortality. And what happened after that was lost in the depths of millennia.

In his current state, Fumiganei is a living corpse with technomantic augmentations, covered in a thick layer of gray mold. Layer so thick it actually resembles metal plating. Mycotherium has completely consumed him. And it is from there that he derives his power.
Fumiganei has the ability to burst into spores and regrow from nearly anything. He has the ability to gradually "turn the victim into himself" over time. When a victim is infected with Fumiganei's spores, the mold replaces every particle of the victim, eventually changing the person into Fumiganei himself. And after that, Fumiganei can continue to live on, with his victim suffering true death, as if they never existed.
