I've just been making some notes about magicks and abilities as of late--I felt the 'Shorty' magick was one of the more imageworthy spells to publicly post notes on.
I had fun with this one, since I could make them all as cartoony as I wanted to. Randl's still the tallest and thinnest, Maru's still the shortest and widest, and Jes' is.. Jes'.
By the way, these outfits are the finals for their default jobs. :3 It's been a lot of fighting with myself over small details, but I finally have three settled. xD

"Shorty" magick - Associated skill(s): Enfeebling Magick, Shapeshifting.
*(Roughly, give or take a few inches.) Halves targets' height and alters bodily proportions to that of Pygmy beastkind. The magick can inflict/dispel Shorty state and the spell does not fade with time.
PROs:
* Elusive Pygmy characters will no longer shy from you. This opens up a new possible set of relationships, item gathering and purchasing.
* Increases Charisma, Attack and Movement Speed, Evasion, and Jump height by three times.
* Can access cramped areas that weren't accessible before/trek across areas with fragile foothold/weight sensitive areas.
* Some attacks may simply soar over Shorty's head, missing completely.
* This will reduce consumption rate of consumables(Food, drink, recovery items.) due to proportion changes.
CONs:
* Strength, Vitality, Defense and Attack drops down to one third of original value.
* Crushing attacks from larger targets/traps now inflict double damage.
* Any knockback attack against you will send you flying three times as far.
* Characters are forced into their Default Jobs while in Shorty state.(Randl; Monk, Maru; Warrior, Jes'Tine; Mimic.)
* "Grapple" attack types become ineffective against larger targets.
* Your weight and equipment weight tolerance for each character drops to half of its original value, making it easy to become overburdened.
* Weapons will remain their original size, forcing some single hand weapon types(Except knuckles, daggers and other small weaponry.) to become two handed in Shorty state. Two-handed weapons/heavy weaponry will simply become too heavy to wield in this state, making certain jobs ineffective in Shorty state.
Lore:
* A new magick. The Shorty magick was in recent created by a duchess and a conspiring Excel Mimic in an attempt to secure trade and alliance with a neighboring nation of Pygmy beastkind--which would hide and lock up at the sight of normal sized folk. The magick was a success and the word quickly spread about it across neighboring continents.
The same author Excel Mimic created the Shorty Tomes and distributed them to their allies. Along the way, another Mimic began to mass produce the tomes and sell them for profit to magistrates and rookie Mimics. Upon hearing the news, the Duchess desired to severe the author Excel Mimic's writing hand, thinking that it was he whom had distributed the tomes in excess.
However, being an Excel Mimic, the author was never found in the region as his true identity again.
Since then, the magick has accustomed to certain spellcasters and is a favourite among shapeshifters. Shapeshifters whom normally cannot directly alter their size were able to upon this point. A true innovation for many beastfolk. Some use the magick against foes that cannot remedy the status alone, and many citizens routinely have the spell cast upon themselves to change their living conditions and live among the Pygmy beastfolk, teaching and learning from them their associated trades.
The only known remedy for the Shorty spell would be the same Shorty spell. No medicine, magickal or otherwise has been able to treat the condition. Some people have been known to be turned into Shorty and lived a duration of their lives in the state, since Mimics of all kinds tend to be very elusive.
