Lakebed Surface
So, seasonally many of our local mountain lakes start the drawback process. Just after Labor day they start to get drained for power production, and hopefully get refilled with snowmelt and snowpack to start the whole process again. *I believe this is the process* But that leaves a "Dry" lake bed in the process and time between Labor Day and the first snow. The result is mud, glorious mud. Well, sorta. Best I've found is ankle deep slippery slop, nothing fancy.
Anyway, this is one of my favorite places to travel in the summer time. I kayak here and also ride up to Mt. Baker Hot-springs.
