This lovely piece was done by  Dorak! My friend  Sonder Tristmine recommended him to me and I couldn't be happier about it, because he does some truly wonderful dragons! And I suppose Mizus kinda count as dragons, right? Well, they're close enough. Close enough so that the artist could create this masterpiece with my character!

Mizutsune are fascinating creatures, both in looks and biology. The way they eat and hunt is quite different from most other creatures inhabiting the wider MH universe. Mizutsune are piscivores, or creatures whose diets are made up of fish. Consuming fish helps with production of their bubblefoam, as well as providing necessary nutrition to keep them alive. To catch and eat fish, they have a unique maw structure that is meant to catch fish, hold them in place, and swallow them whole. They have specialized fangs that curve backward into the mouth, acting like hooks to keep the caught fish from wriggling out and escaping, and teeth meant to catch and hold rather than chew. They also have the ability to unhinge their jaws, giving the ability to extend the mouth to fit larger prey into the entrance to the throat in order to swallow them. This is how they are able to eat how they do, and it's quite impressive to witness!
And here's your chance to witness such a feeding! Mizu is hungry, and it's time for her to catch some fish. She plunges her head into the stream and comes back up with a fish in her jaws! It flops in an attempt to escape, but it's hooked by her fangs. She slides it off her fangs by tilting her head up, leaving it facing the yellow hole of death that is her throat. She then uses her tongue to push its tail in, before snapping her jaws shut, followed by a gulp, the fish never to be seen again. One more fish to fill that hungry Mizu belly! It's safe to say there'll be at least three more about to face the same fate; after all, a girl's gotta eat!
