To answer your first question, I take a bit of a Tezuka Osamu approach when I'm thinking about my characters -- They're like actors and actress that take on different roles depending on the comic. In this story, Doctor Manda plays a sort of ghoulish creature, so I feel that she absolutely has been putting herself together like some sort of imposible monster. If I had her in more of a heroic role, I'd probably have her as a result of someone else's medical intervention.

I love talking about my characters!

So, whichever of them is talking is controlling their body, but they can both feel what’s happening unless one of them is asleep. Doctor Manda can usurp Hailey’s control, but Hailey can interrupt Doctor Manda.

Hailey would considered the two of them BFFs for sure, but I’m not sure how good a friend Doctor Manda really is to anyone. Doctor Manda considers the various creatures that inhabit her castle her responsibility, who she cares for like beloved pets, and she puts a huge amount of trust in Hailey, but she’s just not good at doing “friend things.”

They seem to need to talk to hear each other, but Doctor Manda may have some tricks up her sleeve.

I hope to have the next comic together in time for next year's Inktober. It took about a month to do the layout on this one before I started inking it, so I’m glad people liked it.
