I've made something fairly decent for rendering in video games through the use of hair cards while maintaining the shape of blender's interpolated curve. Using their new curve system from blender 3.3, it can generate interpolated curves for the sharp looking furs or generate hair cards for softer low effort rendering that can be used in video games.
