Deciding I'm here to have fun and why not put charr on a horse. Designing the saddle was so fun.

Stirrups seem like a nightmare for creatures with such wide and pointy feet so nixed those. I imagine the riding style that would develop is more akin to riding a motorcycle, where you lean into the turns. This would leave the hands free for fighting or other work. Acceleration can still be done with a nudge to the flank. Stopping could maybe be done in the seat, but I'm not sure how much the charr spine would appreciate having to sit up and back, so having a short rein that's easily accessible basically functions as an emergency brake. No bit to avoid damaging the mouth in high pressure situations, instead putting pressure on the nose.
