The loud hustle of the city and the musty smell of academia are finally behind me and now, after so many years, do I find myself where my heart had longed for so long. The vexing nay-saying of berating professors seems so pointless in the face of the monumental mountains and ancient forests before my eyes. And as luck would have me...my journey was already a success.
Whilst making camp under an overarching rock, I saw him fly up along the valley. Still on this evening while writing this, I distincly remember the utter vividness of his lustrous golden scales as they reflected the sunlight. My first dragon sighting in nature and it was one so gorgeous already. No book illustration ever could compare to seeing such a creature in the flesh. The glimpse I had was short, but it proved enough to provide a first drawing. One hopefully of many more. Now, with the sinking sun, I need to finish camp before darkness falls upon me.This piece is a Patreon reward from the most skilled
