Winter is coming. There's a chill in the air that gets downright biting at night and the first snowfall has finally arrived... it's nothing heavy and the odds of any of it sticking is highly unlikely, but it is a sign of things to come. Melee isn't worried, though; his basic survival training and camp experience will help ensure he and anyone he's journeying with can stay at least relatively comfortable and fed... so long as he's got the needed supplies. Those aren't always easy to get ahold of, especially during this time of year, but he's experienced enough to make do most of the time, and has managed to prepare himself some hot soup to melt away that chill.

Hmm... maybe a little too hot? Nothing a good blow or two will remedy, though - enough to be able to enjoy it while still being hot enough to keep comfortable. Yes, life out here can be rough - sometimes even dangerous - but Melee's been through worse. So long as he has purpose, he is content and will continue to make the best of things for as long as he can, and right now his situation plenty fine.

Last year, I was able to snag a commission from this artist via a charity art stream. I had them draw Sharon, and I was hoping to get him to draw Melee to go with it, but... well, gotta give other people a chance, right? But I still wanted that Melee pic, and a year later, I would finally get my chance when I saw the artist had opened up commission forms, with a single slot remaining. I knew what I had to do, and we can see the results of such above!

As I wanted it to sort of serve as a counterpiece to the Sharon drawing, I not only made sure it was a colored sketch, but even brought up the picture when filling out the form, asking it to share a similar resolution and letterboxing for good measure. Admittedly, this picture is considerably larger in size, due to some changes in how the artist does things, but can be easily downscaled to match the resolution of the Sharon pic if need be.

I'm real pleased that I was able to get that second piece I had been wanting after so long! Maybe one day, I'll get the artist to draw a pic of both of my dragons together? Ah, but that'll have to wait until another time. For now, I'm happy with what I have.
