Carnoc continues to refuse to do anything Simon tells him to, getting the human increasingly frustrated and increasingly willing and quick to punish him. Vical attempts to coax him outside, curious about the human onlookers, but Carnoc is quite stubborn about that as well...

I think Simon might be overdoing it a little bit, but hey, if he hates a dragon, he hates a dragon. Not that Carnoc is making even the slightest effort to avoid instigating him, so at least he's asking for it.
Comments and critique greatly appreciated.

I fail to see how any humans, no matter how numerous, could ever contain a dragon, let alone TWO, or why these two just don't flame and eat their way out of Disney Land like proper dragons. But I haven't read any of the previous chapters, having been intrigued seeing this one on the main page and just reading it.
Anyway, it's well written, though some of Vical's dialog seems a bit forced and awkward in places. Try reading her speech aloud to figure out where it's odd. I like Carnoc's spirit, though I think he's silly for not simply gobbling up Simon or rending him with his claws. How big are your version of dragons, anyway? When I think of dragons I tend to think of the kind that are larger than most houses. Also, for all of Carnoc's refusal to obey, he's awfully complacent with accepting his punishment. If he's going to refuse and hates his position that much, he should be fighting his hardest to escape and looking for ways out at every turn. (I realize this may have already happened in previous chapters but at the moment I'm not quite interested enough to read it all.) If he's just biding his time and waiting for the best opportunity, that works too.
A good trick for him to try to escape might be to appear to finally give in to Simon, only to go feral on the human audiences and show them dragons aren't for their entertainment, and should instead be feared for the great and powerful beasts they are. Preferably with lots of burning and flames and fire and the hot red glowy stuff that brings pain. Have Vical plan with him, and support him. Even if it doesn't go his way, it could always trigger some ambitious animal-rights group to butt into things. And will shotguns really pierce dragon hide? At the most, it should sting or tickle a little bit. Would certainly be humorous when the human guards find out their guns aren't a match for a dragon's natural armor after all~ And even if your version of dragons don't have the legendary adamantium-hard scales, you can always pull something out your arse about him being an exception since he's a warrior and all.

well this is a advance future they have forces fields, advance stun rifles energy rifles not the tasers that fire the two darts and wires , and both Carnoc and Vical have shock collars that can pump enough voltage to floor'em, and there is already a movement to free the dragons.
I'm actually happy with his version of the dragons mostly, that there not invincible juggernauts

The important thing is this: it's the future, and human tech/weaponry has far outpaced the traditional dragon weapons of claw, tooth, fire, and muscle. So not only are they kept away from all humans (excepting their handlers) by laser barriers, but attempts to escape, hurt, kill etc. would be not-that-difficult for the humans to put a stop to--and with snazzy futuristic stun rifles, not shotguns... though shotguns would be rather devastating as dragons most assuredly do not have impenetrable scales, and bullets go through them pretty easily. This power imbalance (small number of dragons vs. entire planet of humans with technology) also means that dragons need to be careful to make a good impression to avoid being simply wiped out, so Carnoc is under strict orders from the elder dragons not to attack anyone.
Vical's speech sounds more tentative than forced, to me. She barely knows Carnoc, greatly respects him (and wants him under her tail, but that's for another time) because of what he is, and she's still trying to figure out just how she wants to behave around him.
Dragons are approximately bus-sized in this story, perhaps a little larger. Smaller than a two-story house, for sure (wings excluded).
An animal rights group [and a more general equal rights group, considering dragons' sentience] is already getting started on the dragons' case, as the previous crappy chapter mentions. :P Not that I blame you if you don't want to read the rest, as the story is both very long and at least 3 years old, and not up to my usual standards.

Well I guess this is another read I could comment with, I see how he has resigned himself to have determination but I admire the fact that he is managing to control his temper now. He has resilience since though he seemed subdued, he can still flatly say that I don't care about what you do. Though this chapter is certainly a progress, all that shocking and harnessing sounds rather monotonous here. If Simon would go out of bounds to punish him further, the act is nothing short of being tantamount to torture, hell the harnessing itself is a form of torture. Well I still look forward to what happens next(which I do after finishing every chapter) and I can still wait patiently. The bright part in this chapter is when Carnoc drew motivation from thoughts about Vallen's words, that certainly is a sign of improvement on his part, which earned some admiration and respect from me. Great work as always.
... If Carnoc went outside and told people what Simon was doing to him, like, "the handler violates me when I don't listen to him, help me.....!" he might ive the state of the captive dragons a better hand in their freedom; of course I know he's too proud to do that, but, then again, I'm the smart conniving type, not the brutal resistant type.
I'm glad that Simon is 'bad', according to Carnoc; if he were nice Carnoc would have a much harder time resisting him.

1) true, It was the first one to come to my head, and 2) obviously, but at least he's controlling himself... for now.
such a great story, And I really enjoy the 'interviews' you and I have after each chapter plus, by not dwelling on that plot hole in part 1, the chapters since then have sealed it up so well that it is now unnoticeable to the typical reader!
