COMMISSION NOTES
Daylight scenes can confound me sometimes. When you don't know the mood for something (or how you want to capture that mood) you can default to "realistic daytime mood," which is fine if the scene calls for it, but if it doesn't you'll have an image that you can defend intellectually, but which feels incomplete. I'm still figuring out how to deal with this. I found some cool inspiration on Pixiv.
Ink drawings are nice because the dark lines give me a solid foundation to experiment with color and light. You can do a lot of stuff without losing information because the lines won't be erased when you "color" over them.
CORRECTION: I referred to the line work above as an ink drawing, which was sloppy on my part. I made it digitally using Krita's G-Pen brush. Krita's G-pen is nice. Real life G-pen's are nice, too.

Sorry, getting to this late.
I had recently watched Anne Hathaway in Rio, and I thought she gave an energetic, nuanced performance. She's able to ground a character in a broad stroke, and yet also add surprising little twists to the personality that make the person feel alive.
She seems like she'd be able to embody the light-hearted, almost goofy dominance that would fit a character like Muffin. She's got an easygoing confidence subtle enough to make you forget you're under her spell.

Hehe, thanks! Sometimes they're kinda like pulling teeth. I am a sloooooooooooooooow writer. Usually what takes the longest amount of time is deciding how to limit the scope of what I want to talk about.
A non-writing example: If somebody asks, "Hi, how are you?" my default impulse is to dive down to the depths of my unconscious and organize all the chaos within until I can offer the other person a perfectly ordered snapshot of my mental state. The struggle is convincing myself to give up on that and say, "I'm fine, how are you?"

XD Yes, you're right about that. Sorry for the confusion. It would be way too much work to scan in an ink piece to color it digitally. If I were making a traditional ink drawing, it would be faster to color it traditionally as well, although it probably wouldn't be as good.
"Line drawing" is probably a more accurate term. Although I'm positive that I'll slip up and call it ink in the future again. I just discovered the joy of drawing using brush and black acrylic paint. I might be just as quick to call that ink even though there is no ink involved.
