Great Sword Sparring - Reyna & Zen Val Sky'za

A sonic boom occurs, and a disruptive burst of wind and sound disperses the clouds for miles around. Two titans loomed over the land, as their blades clashed against each other. The sheer strength behind both defensive block and offensive blow caused a rupture in the air. The two goddesses, Reyna and Val Sky'za, were engaged in a simple sparing match against each other, to feel out each other's strengths.
"An impressive attack! You truly are skilled at using the weight of your blade to your advantage!" Reyna calls out over the sounds of their paws causing minor craters in the earth. Both were only around 500 or so feet tall, but they still loomed large over everything else.
"Your defensive stance is equally impressive! You keep yourself firmly planted, and use the center of both yourself and your weapon to absorb and defend against attacks!" Sky'za calls out as she notes Reyna's stance. Being a warrior goddess, she can tell how well another can fight within seconds.
The two could continue like this, stopping every now and then to complement each other's style. Of course, some lucky campers nearby were able to get some pictures of the two giantesses' might battle. One could only wonder how the world react at seeing such a battle, even if it was only amounting to a practice round.
A very intense commission project that features the lizard goddess Reyna and my own Val Sky’za the Sky Form Shaymin!
This looks fairly simple, but this was one of the most difficult pose compositions I have ever done. A battle with great swords is something I don’t have a great grasp of and required I look up some references. Even with references this was still hard to do.
But beyond that, it was a great picture to work on! Reyna has quite the interesting design and really compliments the designs my warriors, have, particularly Val Sky’za. >w>
Done as a sketch on paper, scanned in, and painted in Photoshop CS5.
