In his head, Miles (50 years old) saw himself wearing a button-up shirt and necktie, attire he had always associated with positions of high authority - like a college professor. With rolled up blueprints in one of his pudgy paws, Miles stood at the back of a lecture hall, standing in front of a blackboard of which different mathematical formulas and images could be chalked onto its dark-green surface. Dr. Miles Bracco looked enthusiastic to bestow his vast knowledge of machines and mathematics unto hundreds of younger mon.

‘I could probably be teaching an engineering class at Hibbard by now if I just… applied myself more…’

Alas, that can only be a dream at the moment. Miles did love his job as a freelance inventor, but he had always harbored a dream of being a college professor at a prestigious university. What held him back, he knew, was his fear of being publicly judged for his size. Did he, a 200-lb. espeon, deserve the privilege of being a role model to younger mon? Perhaps somewhat, as whenever he would envision himself in a college classroom, he would still be obese.

Maybe one day, he’ll overcome his anxious feelings and gain the necessary confidence to at least apply for a position. Engineering was but one field Miles was intensely knowledgeable in; he would gladly accept any position in any scientific department but held a preference for the main knowledge he utilized everyday in his current craft. For now, though, he can only daydream in his warehouse.

Also, notice: the way Miles envisions himself, he's noticeably lighter than he actually is. (I hope that looks right here.)
