As many of you know I like to craft little things for my fursuit aside of my regular artwork (such as my tail protector which you can also see on the pic). About a month ago I worked on a brand new pair of fursuit sandals!
I already did a pair of sandals some years ago which can be seen here => https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39207603/ <= and I had lots of leftover material. From the previous attempt I also had some experience to do this new project.
For this new pair I decided for a sole pattern rather then written text. As much as I liked the written text on the treads, it lead to confusion when only one sole was shown xP
The new sandals are made out of two layers of cosplay EVA and one layer of shoe sole rubber glued together with webbing inbetween. The sole rubber I ordered from a shoemaker and it comes in two colors that I cut out carefully (it was pain). Then I cut the glued sandals out with a fretsaw and sanded down the shape. It took about 3 workdays in total (I wanted it to be premium!). The sole pattern I created myself in Photoshop and was inspired by the popular RAX paw shoes.
I already tested them out at Eurofurence this year and they feel great to walk around in, got to protect those bare leathery paws afterall~

A tail protector is a great idea to stop it from wearing out if it touches the ground. I haven’t had a chance to try it out, but I thought that an interesting idea would be to have thin fishing line attached from the tail to say, a ring on your finger or just running through an eyelet in an inconspicuous place so you could lift/move your tail with specific movements... 🤔
As I told you already these are looking absolutely brilliant and are very very well made. I like the idea with the pawprint on the soles very much and you took good inspiration but improved on that with your design even more I think. It's clearly visible that you put a lot of effort, time and work into the creation of these which paid off. You can and should be proud of these for sure.
