The 1st of many natural creatures of Midnight Mountain and one of the 1st you are most likely to encounter when arriving at her island as there home and main habitat is the vast deserts surrounding the majority of the island.
Like a few of the other smaller creatures they can be found in other areas of the island, but 90% of them will be found within the desert as is there main home found in the desert.

These creatures are a lot bigger than there mortal world counter part, for a close comparison they would be about as big as a very large rat in the mortal world, so still smaller than most creatures but big enough to be more than noticed.

these mega scorpions are almost identical to there mortal counter parts in terms of anatomy with the 2 front pincers, 6 legs across the body and a bulb shaped singer at the end of a long tail only main difference is there head and what they are made of with there name saying all there is to say.

These creatures are mostly made of obsidian, with there main body and head being made of a darker obsidian and there 6 leg tips being made of a lighter obsidian.
With the exception being there singers, pincers and belly, all three made of semi clear teal crystal, that like there gemstone eyes we will get to in a moment glow and sparkle in the moonlight.

While the crystal claws are just aesthetic to match the singer and belly, the singer and belly itself have teal colour as both areas are filled with the teal soul flame venom common in most of the venomous creatures of hell, with the liquid able to be seen sloshing around in singer and belly like liquid in a crystal bottle.

For the head, this is where they do vary from there mortal counterparts and rather than a smaller head on the front on there body in between the pincers, these scorpions have a bigger head situated above the pincers with the head itself looking like a obsidian rock with its eyes being the gem stones imbedded into the rock.
They were designed this way as a trap for greedy souls that may come to Midnight's island or current residents that just cant help themselves, her island being pretty much on the border of arch demon area of the sea and El Dorado itself Mammon's greedy aura that permutates across the entire ring is exceptionally strong here and so the weak willed are very susceptible to sin with these scorpions being one such way one might give into there greedy temptations.
What these scorpions do when there might be a lager threat approaching is they will burry there entire body into the sand so only there hard obsidian head is poking out, now looking like every other treasure covered rock you might find in a desert like this witch is how they trick larger prey into falling victim to them, especially greedy souls, as now looking like every other treasure covered rock there is a good chance someone will want to collect it.
After all, your a greedy sinner and your moving though this desert and you see a nice shiny obsidian rock about the size of your hand shining in the moon light, adorned with 4 perfectly cut gems (can be any gem) that are glittering and sparkling, dazzling your eyes with there beauty, such a exquisite find and why would it not be, you are on a arch demon's island after all, so it is only natural that they as the ones that serve directly under there sin would have the most lavish and treasure laden islands of them all from their castles down to the rocks on there respective islands, I'm sure they wont mind if one or two go missing.

This is a mistake, as while awe struck by the sparkling rock at your feet, under the sand the scorpion's body is now spring locked like a bear trap, its pincers stretched wide and its tail pulled back, the creature still motionless like a bear trap waiting to be triggered, watching its prey with its un-blinking gemstone eyes.
And should some greedy idiot either accidently step on one or willing go to collect it and thus grabbing the head.
Once touched the spring lock is triggered and like a bear trap instantly snaps shut, with the 2 crystal pincers spring out of the stand and clamping down on the wrist or body part that triggered it and as the clamp is triggered and the scorpion has a secure grip on its target the rest of the body springs fourth from the sand and the pulled back crystal singer now launches forward stinging the victim and injecting its venom.

This venom is the same kind that both all the other snakes of the island and mainly Midnight's Cobra crown (in her snake form) Queen Aplistia have.
A soul flame venom, a teal venom (hence why stinger and belly glow the teal soul colour) that when injected into a sinner, hell born, angle or heaven born sets the very soul on fire, it is as if all your bones have turned to molten iron rods, your entire body is burning and you are in immense pain making movement nearly impossible more so weak souls, as naturally stronger souls like arch demons and arc angles would not be affected as much given there strength and statue and it would take a creature of equal power or greater with the same venom to bring them down like Queen Aplistia's bite or the sin of Gluttony (Bella's) Stinger, however they would also be able to control the flow and potency of the venom to best serve the perpous and depending, for them at least, it can be less painful and used to induce a trance like state for obedience.
Here however, it is the full painful kind, your bones are now a blaze and your writhing on the floor in pain at least for a while, as the venom moves up the body to the heart and brain it starts to reduce blood flow and cease all motor functions leaving the victim in a almost comatose state, they are still conscious and full aware of what is happening but can no longer move or even speak they are effetely a vegetable.
Now limp on the sand dunes other scorpions and scarabs emerge from the sands to come feast on there prey, the rock head where it was cracked at the bottom breaking apart to show it was not a crack but mandibles and a mouth as sharp as any glass, slowly cleaving off chunks of flesh as the victim is slowly eaten alive unable to even scream at the pain they are in, just lying there till the pain is to much and they mentally pass out and die to either respawn back at the very start of the ring as part of Mammon's twisted game or if there soul is already Midnight's respawn somewhere on here island all there power striped away with there flesh and reset back to a essentially a Lv1 lesser demon.

However they will not always be eaten as while normally these creature are either solo hunters or will feast in a social group unlike the mortal counter parts, they do have a slight hive mind with one of two twin greater demons that rule the 1st area of Midnight's Mountain being the queen of the scorpions and on occasion should she will it, either for her own hunger or because she or Midnight have taken interest in this soul, will hive mind the scorpions under her to carry the paralyzed victim to the greater's desert ruin domain to be place in front of there queen either for her to do with as they please or wait for Midnight or at the very least her personal golden anubian guard sisters to come pick them up to be taken back to the mountain itself.
