It does feel a little weird that he wants to help the monsters rebuild when they also still chose to come in and despoil the land. I cannot imagine a lot of them being altruistic compared to their dragon king.

There's multiple ways we can look at this. On the one hand, he has seen that humans and monsters CAN work together. He's a tailor and never wanted violence or the life he would ultimately be given.

On the other hand, he carries a great deal of guilt given that he hurt a lot of monsters to get to the dragon king, and he did it in most terrible ways when he had nothing left. He seeks atonement, even if he believes he will never stop being punished for his actions. Lastly, it's the only thing he genuinely has left in him now. The only purpose he can find is trying to rebuild a land of peace and undo whatever damage was done, or die trying. But he can't die though can he? Ironic that he shares the same fate as fate demons.

Uhhhh what? What did he do that he thinks he deserves to be hated for? He didn't participate in any battles. He hurt some monsters so he could track down the dragon king and then exiled him. That's it!

Monsters hate him because they THINK he was a big time hero that fought a lot of battles and killed a bunch of monsters, but he didn't!

That's nice of her. It does seem like a time for sedatives and sleep.
