While walking home after taking the late shift, Shinji stumbles across two figures in the dark, one clearly injured. The other snaps and growls, standing protectively in front of the other, but is eventually coaxed into letting him help. It's obvious, even in the dark, that they aren't human but Shinji offers them sanctuary in his apartment anyway and helps wrap the brunette's wounds. After several tense days of wondering whether or not the flame haired one was going to kill him the other finally wakes up and he finally gets an answer of who and what they are. They are both Fairies, each being the King of their respective species, and were attacked shortly after their marriage by a group who didn't want the two species to integrate. They agree to stay in Shinji's apartment while they heal.
