Due Note: I'm well aware of the name differences in the UK version from the French Original, but I, who saw the show back in 1998 (along with Beast Wars and ReBoot) in its Puertorican run, the original French names were used in the Mexican Spanish Dub. Therefor, while these will be reference in their initial naming in the description at first, the French/Spanish names will be use due to my familiarity with it and brevity sake.
Aelia (Alex in the UK dub) was one of the main protagonists in the 1994 French CGI animated TV series Insektors, produce by Studio Fantome, and one of only two females in the show's main cast, the other been Queen Bakrakra (Katherer the Third in the UK dub).
Aelia was a Lilac Butterfly, a member of the Joyce/Verigreen Race and a resident of the Flowered City; she is the Biological daughter of the Joyce Wise leader – the Great Artificer/Godfrey – and adoptive elder sister of Fulgor/Flynn, the show's main hero – she is close friends with Daltonio/Bentley, Gallapus/Peg, Spotty/Elmo, and love interest of Prince Acylius/Maximilian.
Like all Joyce, Aelia works everyday to maintain and protect Flowered City and it's Great Prism - the source of Color, Energy and Life for the Joyce and their Flower Forest; the latter often target of the Colorless drabbed war-like Beurks/Kruds, who use the wood to fuel and warm up their Queen and city (and stay off a flood from over taking the city if the pumps were to stopped working); this is in large part to the Beurk's having wasted their Coal resources with reckless abandon forcing them to go after the Joyce's Flowers for substitute fuel, thus been much at the center of the Conflict between Joyce and Beurks – even though Joyce came from Beurks, the latter views the former's appreciation for Colors and Flowers as grotesque and an affront to their way of life.
The conflict is largely pushed by the Bellicose Queen Bakrakra and her power hungry Prime Minister, Krabo/Draffsack – the latter been the principal Antagonist of the series – thus Aelia helps Fulgor to stop them and their lackeys from destroying their homeland.
The damage they cause in their lands makes Aelia show no fondness for Beurks, barred one; Prince Acylius; first thinking he was a Joyce, as he was covered in Colors when they first met, she finds out the truth (been literal here) when his true colors were shown – after learning his situation, even Fulgor ends up developing a friendship with the Beurk Prince, and with Aelia a romance, much to disdain of the Queen, as the Prince always digs tunnels all over the place to reach the Joyce's Lands, and seeking at one point to stop him from these shenanigans, orders Aelia's capture in one occasion, though Fulgor puts an end to it, much to the suffering of Krabo.
For the Joyce, specially her father, the Artificer, Acylus could lead to peace between the two races once the Prince succeeds his mother to the throne, much to the horror of Krabo, who seeks to stop such outcome and ascend himself as King by the rules of the line of Succession. It is also thanks to this close relationship that helps Acylius to be the one Beurk to achieve flight, and their bond had help save the day more the once, Aelia and He taking matters to saves Planet Karbone/Krud from an incoming Comet in Kataklism by taking control of a Laser Canon.
Aelia, much like her father, is one of the more intelligent, competent and gentle characters in the series, showing great kindness to those close to her and a love and understanding for the Environment, thus following in her father's footsteps, she works as a Scientist and Gardener, developing new seeds for new kinds of flowers - one of which engulfs the Beurk City in vines and flowers, which Acylius found and brought as a gift to her mother, thus fomenting a bond between the two before their first meeting; These skills of her comes to show in the EpidemiK/Kure story line, where the Joyce come down with a disease that robs them of their flight, and later the Beurk's contracts it but having their voices affected; it was Aelia who came up with the antidote restoring both races to health – much to the chagrin of the Beurks.
Her knowledge of plants also comes to great use for Acylius when he sets out to prove Fulgor's innocence in Beurk Court after Lieutenant Kaboche/Corporal Greeb was contaminated by a variant of mushroom that produces Colors even The Dark Box/Krud-O-Pod could not remove.
Despite her kindness and maturity, she can come out as bossy and often this leads into conflict with the more Free Spirited fun loving Fulgor; in one such occasion, not out of malice but anger, reminds him of his adoption when calling her little sister (In the Spanish version) after been annoyed by his antics, which leads to his capture; when she finds out, a remorseful and worry Aelia sneaks into Beurk City to rescue him, afterwards it was a potion, the two created in their bickering, that saves the day when Fulgor uses it on the City's Furnace, exploding in a colorful fireworks display which puts it out of commission. In another occasion, she was worried sick for him after Fulgor found out of his true Origins as a Refugee Baby Beurk brought by Gallapus, the final invention of his father (Eurekas/Magus), and unable to find any clue of his fathe'rs whereabouts, leaves him in a very depressive state.
Still, Aelia, though bossy, has demonstrated that she is not devoid of humor and mischief, and will help Fulgor pull tricks and pranks on Krabo and the other Beurks if it means stopping them from Destroying her flowers or saving Acylius in his escapes.
Aelia was voice by Rafaèle Moutier (French), Caroline Bliss (UK) and Karen Strassman (NA) – sadly I hold no information for the Mexican va in the Spanish dubbed of Insektors.

(Personally I prefer the USA dub, but I couldn't find a high quality version online.)

I don't think one can find Insektors in high quality, sadly, been one of the early trail blazers of early CGI animation shows. Not even in WatchCartoon.
I think one would have to go to France to see of their are HQ Eps collection set, but if they exist they would had been posted on line by now.
