Life on Veridios is quite young.
The most complex lifeforms are the Plogdopods (or Tripi) yet they are still small and lack a definable brain. They lack a full digestive system so they must constantly siphon food out of the sand with their feet to survive.
The most numerous lifeforms are the Carcindinaria (Jelly Crabs), which also lack many major internal organs. They are skittish and will dart away when you get too close.
The largest lifeforms are the Veriturpicis (Turtlefish) which can reach up to a meter long. They are also the least complex, still resembling their single cellular ancestors. However, they are the most friendly and curious of the bunch.
The hardiest lifeforms are the Bacaridina (Bacon Shrimp) which are named for their distinct colourations (and taste). They can be found at the deepest depths in Veridios' oceans (200m)
