Part of Zander Murphy's backstory is that he spent some time as a member of a mercenary outfit in the Deserts of Sun's Touch. While there his company took up operations in support of the local government. It was dreary business, but it gave him an excuse to be away from home. There he met his best friend Matthew Cooke a quirky young Marsupial. The pair would collaborate on operations against the rebel group led by the infamous Sentinel. Sentinel remains a name that forever shakes the nerves of Zander, Matt, and the remaining survivors of their company long after its dissolution.
