A work of art
A beautiful painting

Rich with color
And natural vibrancy

Royal purples
Envious greens

While rails guard touch
Of these pigments
Why is it off limits?

Oh, to get closer
To feel the colors
To caress its strokes

Is anyone looking?

Reach past the rails
Learn the secrets
The artist forbids

The distance between
Is but several feet
So easy
To break the rules


Upon touch
The illusion ends

So cheap!
What is that, tempura paint!?

Is that canvas…
