After my most recent journal (as of this posting, see here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2135380/) I decided to challenge myself and see what I could do if I went out there to learn new things. This piece was done entirely in paint tool Sai with new techniques I learned and new insights on how to draw. I'm not happy with it, particularly around the face area, but I'm happy enough. I do like how shiny his belly and tail look.

It was hard . . . ish. The hardest part about it was figuring out the tools, finding tutorials online, and getting a feel for how Sai Works. Some stuff I discovered purely by accident, some stuff I had to search high and low for, some stuff I still don't know how to do.

Well, I am definitely going to try this style again if that's what you're asking. I always strive to improve my artwork, but sometimes I just need an impetus, something to push me forward. I realized I had heard of Paint Tool Sai but had never gotten around to using it, so that's how this one came about. We'll see what the future holds.
