One of the known unspoken rules in minecraft, other than 'never dig straight down', is 'don't live in a wooden house and play with fire'. And well these two are pretty derp and welp.
Here's hoping they can either put out the fire, or build another house before nightfall and the monsters come out.

Ha! I started out in an area pretty much devoid of wood so my first above ground house was made of stone, which I had insane amounts of, so I never had this problem. Now I had a simular problem with a forest fire started by lava that randomly appeared above ground that I solved with explosives but I doubt that would help here...
