Edwin Sketch-a-Week: W37

Two things jump out at me about this piece: First, Edwin's sturdy frame, almost muscular. Many of the previous depictions portray him as having a slender frame. Said another way, this Edwin could annihilate the previous depictions in a bar fight (the swimsuit edition would give him a run for his money). Second, look at those feet and robust toes! I like how the black toes on gray feet turned out.
Detail = well shy of A lot. The simple shading creates dimensionality. Also the tendon lines on the hands make them feel alive.
Shape & Borders = just in the Soft, Rounded lines spectrum. The shadows are stark, there are a few other straight lines, but most of the drawing uses rounded lines and shapes. This piece is a good mix, but it reads just a little more rounded than sharp.
Anthro type = Near-human. If you cover the head and disregard the fur coloring this could be a picture of a human with big toes.
Furry Art Style Category = Just within Animalia.
